2009 SIAC Awards presented at Holiday Party

Lou Marli Memorial Service Award - SITRAC Board
All Staten Island Residents are eligible to be nominated for this award. Individuals are recognized for long-time service to the Running Community, their dedication to making running better for all. The most prestigious award in the Staten Island Running Community, based upon the generous and unselfish commitment to the runners of Staten Island by the award’s namesake Lou.
Bill Welch Coaching Award - Jim Hughes
Abel Kiviat Memorial Award - Ron Cohen
Presented to a SIAC Member over 60 who has excelled in Running.
Fred Lebow Memorial Award – Sarah Gardner
Presented to a SIAC member who has overcome a tremendous personal or physical obstacle, and continued to excel at running.
Christopher Whitehouse Memorial Award – Mazy Family
Presented to a SIAC family, who have excelled together as runners.
Kurt Steiner Memorial Award - Darcy Hearn & Lisa Rigolini
Presented to a SIAC member who has excelled as a Volunteer.
Male Open – JP Pablo
Female Open – Christine Pagano
Extra Mile Award – Cesar Lucido
Most Improved – Ryan Contino and Kim Lombardi
Outstanding Performance of the Year – Gus Stanzione

On May 3rd the SIAC honored six High School students at the Staten Island Island High School Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Monsignor Farell High School.Irene O'Hare and James Cassidy received $1000 each in honor Firefighter Greg Buck. 
Four more scholarhips were awarded to students possessing such outstanding qualities as team spirit, dedication, and determination. 
This is the 7th year that the S.I.A.C. has awarded the Scholarships.
